What’s there in this film?.
Kaali Khuhi (The Black Well), The film is out on Netflix so I thought the film would be of good quality just like you think now, but after watching the film that expectation was a bit wasted. Okay, let’s see what are the pros in the film.
The one-line story is, a village is cursed due to female infanticide, where everyone dies mysteriously in a few days, and the heroine’s grandmother also kills the girl child born to her, thus the child comes to avenge her family. the rest of the story is whether or not the heroine’s family escaped from this.
Terrie Samundara, I have never seen films directed by her, but when I look at the story of their films everything has profound ideas involving women.this kaali Khuhi (2020) is no less than them, in which Terrie Samundara tells about female infanticide with the decorations of horror and thriller scenes.
Although the horror scenes in the film were minimal from the beginning, the screenplay dragged us in with a bit of enthusiasm.this is the truth, you will say the same thing after watching the movie.
Riva Arora carries the film as a child star though the acting of the actors is not so much.the characterization in the film was good, and the scenes that tell about that village sparked a little more interest about the film.
At first, you will think the film is like an old horror movie, but you only understand the concept in the film halfway through, Because at first, we don’t know why the people in that village are dying for, you will know the reason only after the film is half over.
Like all regular horror films, the music and background scores have lifted the scenes a bit. the cinematography deals with old horror film nuances.
What’s not there in this film?.
You can’t understand anything other than a few ideas in the film, the film just keeps going without much detailing.
You can’t expect any logic in the film, I still do not understand how the girl who died as a child turns into a 10-year-old girl, why she did not grow up furthermore.
Having seen the film I still do not know what this well is and why those villagers are burning children in it. This is why I say that there is not much detailing in the film, the film keeps the old type of horror effects and drags us for 1hr 30mins.
Horror scenes in the film are not so scary, everything is old-fashioned, mainly that one-eyed blind witch, this kind of characterization we have all seen many times in 90’s films.
It fits Riva Arora.
For her average performance as Shivangi.

I have already said this above, let’s go a little deeper, the reason for all this is that all the dead children turn into demons and take revenge on their family.
The heroine’s grandmother kills her newborn baby girl, and many years later the baby comes to avenge their family. the rest of the story is whether or not the heroine’s family escaped from this.
The film ends as the heroine finally saves the soul of that child, Thus she is the only one who finally survives.
I didn’t like this flick so much but watch it for one time, this is only if you do not have any movies to see.
